Quiet Time

Sunday afternoon is the perfect time to take a nap, don't you think? Addison doesn't think so. She doesn't believe in naps anymore. The solution? Quiet time. She doesn't have to sleep, but she can quietly play or read books in her room. She usually doesn't last longer than an hour, but I have found that this time is good for her mental health and it helps her mood for the rest of the afternoon.

So- last Sunday quiet time rolls around. Addison is in there for two hours! When she finally comes out, it is apparent why.

We had a little talk about how markers are only for paper.
See the little house and family on her right leg? Adorable, right?
It was only later that I found the REST of the adorable little drawings: Wall, sheets, carpet . . .

*Note: I actually wasn't mad about this. This is the first time she has done something like this and I'm surprised it hadn't happened sooner. She helped us clean it all up and it all washed out just fine. And later in a thoughtful little voice, "I'm sorry I made a mistake." So precious!
