And I accomplished my goal of doing lots of the work myself. Karl did help (I hadn't the foggiest idea on how to do some of this stuff) and I learned a lot of new things:
1. Building is the fun part.
2. Sanding is only fun for about ten seconds.
3. But sanding is a little fun because you get really, really dirty and once in a while that feels kinda good.
4. I learned how to countersink screws.
5. I replaced my "I don't know what I'm doing" technique with "how to hammer like a man" technique.
6. If I keep building stuff I'm going to get buff.
7. Tool wielding husbands are soo attractive (Can I use the "S" word on a family blog?).
8. I learned what a jig is (and I don't mean the Irish dance, although there was some of that too).
9. It feels good to build. You should try it.
Also, many thanks to Ana White at knock off wood. This woman is amazing, beautiful, and inspiring.
And as a side note, I found these rad vintage frames at a thrift store the other day for 5 bucks each. Can't wait to show you what I'm going to do with them.
