Another Addison inexplicable
"Mom! When I was brushing my teeth the bangs on my two front teeth came off!"
"The bangs?"
"YES! You know, the BANGS!" Pointing to her two front teeth.
I'm still mulling that one over.

Changes
We are still alive! Although you might not recognize us anymore. There have been lots of shenanigans in the Martineau household of late. The above pictures are from our big move to a new state (again- can we stop doing that for a while?).
Stay tuned for more updates on things like: Moving to AZ, Addison starts kindergarten and Karl starts medical school, Coral is walking, and Kristin is getting used to being a married, single mom.
Don't be disappointed. More coming soon.
Six months old.

"I'm so cute and happy because I have fantastic cheeks." Don't you just wanna kiss those?
Addison always wants to give Coral a ride around. It will be much easier when Momma doesn't have to keep up. :)
Addison lost her two bottom teeth two months ago. Right at the same time Coral was getting her two bottom teeth. Weird.
Hello there. Remember us? We have a lot of catching up to do. But I won't bore you with the details.
In brief:
We moved
I'm pretty sure Autumn was saying, "I don't want to play in your strange little house. Let me out of here!"
Watching a movie in a box is cool.
Sisters are way more fun than parents.
Karl is a good bench for four little girls.

Me and Coral (who, by the way is almost 7 months now!)

Blessing
Baby blessing are so short. It seems like everyone drives so far to be here for such a short event that sometimes I wonder if all the hype is worth it. But I have to say, when I looked at the circle of men* gathered around my baby to bless her, my heart just swelled. What a lucky girl to have so many good men in her life. I am so thankful for the priesthood. I am so thankful for my husband who is worthy to hold it and does so honorably. I love you Karl.
*We missed you David!
First Day of School
This little girl started preschool again this year. She unexpectedly has new teachers, so I was a little worried that would throw her off. What was I thinking. She walked in, sat down on the carpet and didn't even look back. We said goodbye and she gave us a half hearted wave. She hardly ever gives me a chance to be sentimental. : ) The above photo is her picture smile.
2 months
Of course Ad had to get in on the action. Funny how if you try to take a picture of her she throws her cotton candy into a crowd, but if it is of someone else, she wants in.
Thinking
While baby sleeps . . .
The bookshelf is finished! This was such a fun project and I already have a long list of some other things I want to build.
And I accomplished my goal of doing lots of the work myself. Karl did help (I hadn't the foggiest idea on how to do some of this stuff) and I learned a lot of new things:
1. Building is the fun part.
2. Sanding is only fun for about ten seconds.
3. But sanding is a little fun because you get really, really dirty and once in a while that feels kinda good.
4. I learned how to countersink screws.
5. I replaced my "I don't know what I'm doing" technique with "how to hammer like a man" technique.
6. If I keep building stuff I'm going to get buff.
7. Tool wielding husbands are soo attractive (Can I use the "S" word on a family blog?).
8. I learned what a jig is (and I don't mean the Irish dance, although there was some of that too).
9. It feels good to build. You should try it.
Isn't is lovely? I can't wait to paint it and put it in Coral's nursery.
Also, many thanks to Ana White at knock off wood. This woman is amazing, beautiful, and inspiring.
And as a side note, I found these rad vintage frames at a thrift store the other day for 5 bucks each. Can't wait to show you what I'm going to do with them.

Quiet Time
So- last Sunday quiet time rolls around. Addison is in there for two hours! When she finally comes out, it is apparent why.
*Note: I actually wasn't mad about this. This is the first time she has done something like this and I'm surprised it hadn't happened sooner. She helped us clean it all up and it all washed out just fine. And later in a thoughtful little voice, "I'm sorry I made a mistake." So precious!
Addison's Rockie Day
Kim and David came to visit.
We went to a Rockies game. They lost. Bumma.
But fun was had by all. Including Coral. And the guy in the blue shirt sitting in the row in front of us. What a nice, clean blue shirt.
Addison was delighted to get "one of those cones with the hairy stuff on it."
(Don't ask me what I was doing with my lips here)
It made a huge sticky mess. She declined a photo.
Take note of the slobbery, sticky wad of cotton candy at the bottom of the cone.
I'm serious Dad. Don't take a picture of me! Or I will . . . . .
Four year olds are poor decision makers. I mean that in a nice way. In the way that they think it's a good idea to throw that cone with the sticky wad of cotton candy on the bottom, into a crowd of people. That's one way to show you're serious, right?
The cone keeps going. The wad lands on the shoulder of the nice gentleman with the blue shirt. I stare, helpless with my arms full of baby. Karl retrieves it and apologizes.
Addison realizes her folly and bursts into tears. (Does the back of his head look just a little more annoyed than the first picture? I wish this showed the pink blotch on his shoulder that was left behind.)
Not to worry. She quickly recovers and begins meowing loudly. Loudly enough to be heard over the crowd. From a hundred feet away.
Everyone, I mean everyone should have a four year old.
Coral meets Jack- but not a goat.
Rachel's little guy Jack was born four weeks before Coral. It was time the two should meet. We sometimes joke about these two being betrothed. Coral seems fine with it, not sure how Jack feels. What do you think?

Rachel was behind the camera and got lots of pictures of Coral and I. Usually it's me taking the pictures, so I'm never in them. I'm glad she got these- my kids might like to see what I looked like when they were little.
*Rachel- why did we not think to get one of the two of us with the babies? Next time!
