Addison had her first bite of baby food yesterday! Well, technically it was round two. Her ambitious and independent father decided to give her some rice cereal while I was gone for a half hour run a couple of days ago. As I came in the house, he excitedly told me what he had done and was suprised when I didn't react in the expected manner. In the discussion that followed, I learned to appreciate his desire to be a hands-on father, and he learned to appreciate my sentimentality as a mother. We decided that it didn't really count (because the first round is really just water, with one or two bits of cereal floating around anyway) and that we would do it together next time, pictures and all. So here it is! I expected her to make a funny, disgusted face like she did the time my Dad gave her a little taste of Dr. Pepper (much to my chagrin, but what are grandpas for?).
It went more like this:

She has been so eager to try food that she just chowed down! This picture is blurry, but it is a good example of how much she liked it.

"Don't take it away Mom!"
