Harvest time

The best part of growing things (see last post) is the harvest, and that time has come! Yesterday, after a full day of work, Kristin had her friend Allison over in ultrasound take a peek, to see how Addison was doing in there. Allison took one look and said, "Uh, there's like, not very much fluid in there. You should call your doctor." A short time later, we found ourselves in the doctors office. A long time later, we saw the doctor. He scheduled us to go into the hospital this morning at 8 to get another AFI (Amniotic Fluid Index), and told us that if there wasn't more, then he wanted to go ahead and induce. Induce?!?! What??? Kristin ran around like crazy for the rest of the day, trying to get everything done. We thought we had at least another week, and Kristin didn't feel like she had all the "twigs in her nest" as she puts it.

Here is a picture of Kristin during the test, before the evil labor-inducing drugs.

Here is the after picture.

Looks like fun, huh? Yes, that is an "emesis" (barf) bag right by her. After this, we got to go home for awhile because the baby is doing fine. Kristin tried to eat a little, but felt too sick. And then came round 2.
