Round 2

After a short six hours we got to go back for more! We were all really excited. Actually, Kristin was hoping she had dilated enough that a second dose wouldn't be necessary. But that wasn't the case. Fortunately, there was good news though. The first dose had started a regular pattern of labor! Here is what that looks like, according to the graph.

The top part shows the Addison's heart rate, and the bottom part shows Kristin's contractions. Pretty good, but just getting started! It's really amazing the difference between contraction, and not contraction. Those are really the only two states of being that seem to adequately describe labor.
Contraction

Not Contraction

So that's pretty much the story up until now. They sent us back home at about 6. Kristin was actually hungry and NOT nauseous for once, so we went to IHOP, because pancakes sounded good to her. We're supposed to go back at about 10:30 tonight, and the REAL labor will begin with administration of pitocin. It's supposed to be the worst of all. It should still take 10-12 hours after that, so Tammy (Kristin's mom) and I are prepared with good snacks and entertainment.

Aaaaah! Kristin, how do you have such silky smooth locks of gorgeous hair when you're in freakin' labor?? I hate you. ;-)
